Why #CEO1M means so much?

The first time I got to know about this program was in a workshop about productivity in my University. I was seated behind someone who had the computer and on the monitor I saw written "CEO for One Month". The first thing that came to my mind was that perhaps some company was looking to replace its CEO... but does it make sense to be just for a month? It didn't make sense. I had to know more.

When I searched "CEO for One Month" it was everywhere: videos, experiences of past CEOs, interviews - it was a whole new thing that catch my attention right away. It all made sense and, more than that, it was something totally different to most of the internships we are used to as students. In both my bachelor in Economics and now in my Masters in Finance, a big picture mind-set and a top-bottom decision making approach was taught. Students in business areas develop this theoretical way of thinking about a company as a whole, learning about strategy, how managers should make decisions, how to be a profitable company, etc.
To put this theory into practice and, knowing that most companies look for new candidates with some professional experience besides the academic curriculum, we look for opportunities such as internships or projects. However, most of the available roles are focused on a specific area or department. That's why this program is not like any other internship. We get this opportunity to learn about how a company works with all departments interconnected and, just by experiencing this, we will perform our future roles better with a whole new perspective about companies.
Now imagine: what would be the effect of having more companies doing the same as The Adecco Group? Imagine many young people having similar experiences and the tremendous impact on the future of work.
